Vintage and antique pieces

We search for vintage and antique pieces. We sympathetically restore them, or sometimes reinterpret them. We recycle, upcycle, reuse and reconstruct. We collaborate with other craftspeople and designers who share our approach. We showcase and sell the work of other designers and artists in our East London showroom.

also available at selfridges

We are very pleased to have been invited to display and sell our furniture at london's leading department store - Selfridges. Our first consignment has been delivered to the store and is on sale now. There are already a good selection of our signature pieces of reclaimed and restored vintage industrial tables, chairs, design and lighting as well as a few unique pieces created in our own atelier and not available elsewhere.
If you are in the West End do pop in and have a browse. You will find us on the Lower Ground Floor next to the Yellow Cafe.

through the window

Some of our new finds are always on display in our shop windows - subject to size.

On display at the moment we have an eclectic mix. A very nice set of printers drawers with a zinced metal top, a set of 3 opaline light fixtures with original bakelite galleries, a small selection of our current run of restored, rewired and polished metal illuminated letters, and a good sized factory clock in found condition.

A big thankyou to Rupert (not pictured) for his very versatile 'recycled drawer' window display.

The simple yet beautifully detailed reclaimed antique school library table and set of 10 cox chairs display nicely with the clock.

shop interior

Some pictures of our shop interior as our new season's stock is starting to arrive. The interior of the shop is always in flux. As we sell and say goodbye to old friends we add our new finds to our current collection.

Our stock is mainly composed of one-off pieces or short runs of a particular piece. We strive to present the very best selection of vintage industrial furniture, antique furniture and retro furniture. If you want to be notified of our latest finds then please sign-up for our newsletter.

Pop by our shop...

Maybe you know it or maybe you don't. Our shop is situated in the newly renovated and historic Old Spitalfields Market. There are lots of things to see and do, great places to eat, galleries, and lots of stalls and shops to browse. So the only question remains  - 'if you haven't visited us in Spitalfields what are you waiting for...?' We look forward to seeing you there. Our shop opening hours are here.

Livingetc Magazine - March 2010

One of our old school vintage pigeon hole cabinets is featured this month in living etc magazine. Vintage pieces with character can have a variety of new uses in all manner of new contexts. Be brave and push the boat out. You might never know how good it will look until you've tried it. More pieces like this are coming into stock on a regular basis - see our latest updates online!

foundary in czech republic

Once upon a time this job used to entail travel to exotic foreign destinations. But to paraphrase Brian Eno " sometimes the destination is not as important as the change of scene." We have been involved in the clearance of a huge foundary in the Czech Republic. Thanks to Johnny (with the pony tail in the picture) for all of his help and to Fred for all of his driving.

We have salvaged all sorts of workbenches, trolleys, lights, shelving, tables, lighting, industrial fittings and more. A small selection are pictured below.
They will be coming into stock over the next few months. We will keep you posted as to progress. Or do get in touch if you have specific requirements? When we receive our first consignment we will get to work renovating, restoring, refinishing, and reimagining all of these great pieces.

The smaller foundary benches shown here are over 3m long. The larger ones behind are over 5m. They have fantastic wear and will scrub up into character pieces with lots and lots of storage space.
